San Diego County CA— The California Peace Officers’ Association (CPOA) statewide awards committee has selected the Trauma Intervention Programs (TIP) to receive the Association’s Certificate of Appreciation for work with California Highway Patrol.
During the CPOA COPSWEST Training & Expo, October 3-6, 2016, the CPOA awards program will be honoring the most deserving nominations recognizing law enforcement individuals in California. This award recognizes all TIP affiliates in California including:
- TIP of Corona, Inc.
- TIP of Foothill/Sierra Mountain Inc.
- TIP of Orange County
- TIP of San Diego County Inc.
- TIP of SW Riverside County, Inc.
- TIP of Yuba-Sutter Inc.
Wayne Fortin, Trauma Intervention Programs Founder, along with TIP Manager Lou Binninger will be present at the COPSWEST to accept this award on behalf of all TIP affiliates.

About TIP
The Trauma Intervention Programs (TIP) of San Diego, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that those who are emotionally traumatized in emergency situations receive the assistance they need. To accomplish that goal, TIP works closely with local communities to establish emergency services volunteer programs. Highly trained and screened citizen volunteers are called to emergency scenes to assist family members, witnesses, and other bystanders directly on-scene, during the investigation.
