Oceanside CA— In the spirit of Veterans Day, Laughing Pony Rescue, Inc., is hosting a concert, Sunday, November 6, 2016, 4pm-7pm, at Goat Hill Park in Oceanside to honor and support those who protect and serve our country – the members of our military, our police and our firefighters. LPR is proud to announce that Alex Woodard will be performing songs from his critically-acclaimed book and album series “For The Sender,” which was crafted from letters written by fans that are a true-life testament to life, love, and healing.
The evening would not be complete without a demonstration from Leisa Tilley- Grajek and her K9 Guardians, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise and train German Shepherds as service dogs for the purpose of providing them to veterans of foreign or domestic wars that suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and other service related disabilities. The concert is FREE to all members of our military, police and fire departments and their families.
Concert tickets are available to all other community members for a $10 donation at the entrance. Donations made by Nothing Bundt Cakes in Del Mar.
About Laughing Pony Rescue
Laughing Pony Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose purpose is to rescue and rehabilitate unwanted, abused and slaughter-bound horses of all breeds. Over the years we have rescued or assisted others in their rescue efforts to save over 400 horses. LPR is a proud supporter of our military, fire and police personnel. In the past Laughing Pony Rescue acquired two horses that were considered by others unable to be ridden. Through time, patience, and dedication these horses were trained to be Army worthy by LPR. Our founder has studied and cared for these magnificent creatures for over 30 years. It is her passion and experience coupled with the drive and dedication of our Board and volunteers that keeps Laughing Pony Rescue moving forward. LPR has no paid staff and operates totally on public donations. 100% of all money donated goes toward the care of rescued horses.
