Garden Tapestries from Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Center in Giza, Egypt. For the FIRST TIME WORLD-WIDE, the garden-themed tapestries from the Rameses Wissa Wassef Art Center in Giza, Egypt will be on display in a prominent public garden. The Egyptian artists in this exhibit vividly celebrate the flowers of the desert, villages and Nile River in their work. Sculpture in the Garden. This unique exhibition showcases 52 sculptures from more than 30 talented artists – including renowned local artist James Hubbell – set against the beautiful backdrop of the San Diego Botanic Garden. Take a self-guided tour with the Garden’s Sculpture Map. Beginning Mosaics – Butterflies, Dragonflies, Seahorses, Owls & Turtles. Come and enjoy two relaxing days creating garden art for your garden with friends. In this beginning mosaics class, students will create a butterfly, dragonfly, seahorse, owl or turtle using beautiful stained glass, mirrored glass, iridescent glass, beads and glass gems. Focus on Orchids: Photo Workshop with Bob Bretell. Orchids are among nature’s loveliest creations but are often very challenging to photograph. Bob Bretell has been shooting orchids for 20 years and will demystify the frustrations many camera enthusiasts have capturing these exotic flowers on digital.
