‘Living Library’ Immigration Stories

Living+Library+Immigration+Stories

Oceanside CA—Join Oceanside Public Library on Saturday, March 25 at 6:00 p.m. at the Civic Center Library, 330 N. Coast Highway in Oceanside, for fusion food and conversation with local community figures to celebrate the history and experiences of Californians who weren’t born here but chose to call it home.
The Library has invited five “living library” participants to share their personal stories and/or expert historical knowledge about immigration to California. This event is part of the California Center of the Book community-building program, Californians: Community Conversations about Immigration, which is designed to spark community discourse and foster tolerance, meaningful conversation and understanding around immigration.
The Library hopes to encourage an open dialogue that celebrates the different perspectives and ideas that are at the root of immigration and looks forward to hosting notable community members whose lives have been impacted or whose work explores these important themes.
This is a free program and international hors d’oeuvres will be served during the event. For more information, please visit the library’s website at www.oceansidepubliclibrary.org or call (760) 435-5600.
