Former Camp Pendleton YMCA Executive knows the value of giving back

Oceanside CA— The Tri-City Hospital Foundation welcomes new board of trustee member, Colonel George Brown, for a three-year term. The Oceanside local brings a disciplined approach to life and community service honed over a 30-year military career.
“Colonel Brown is very well known to Camp Pendleton families,” said Glen Newhart, president of the Tri-City Hospital Foundation. “His focus on improving the quality of life for the junior enlisted Marines speaks to his sense of service and demonstrates his commitment to the community that gave him his career.”
Colonel Brown’s U.S. Marine Corps career spanned 30 years before retiring in 1999. Unable to settle into retirement upon his move to Oceanside in 2002, Colonel Brown became the Executive Director for Camp Pendleton Armed Services YMCA where he served for 12 years and helped raise millions of dollars for programs and events for the military families at Camp Pendleton.
Continuing executive board members include board Chair David Tweedy, Ph.D of Senior Medical Associates, Kevin Stotmeister of Federal Heath Visual Communications, retired U.S. Marine Colonel John Todd, Neal Stehly of HUB International, Jennifer Paroly of Pacific Registry Services, Colleen O’Harra of O’Harra Estate Services, Tory Walker of Tory R. Walker Engineering Inc., and Rita Geldert who is a retired city manager for City of Vista.
