Oceanside CA— Responding to the urgent call for more blood and platelet donations, MiraCosta College is hosting a blood and bone marrow drive on both the Oceanside and San Elijo campuses. January’s cold weather and a severe flu season has impacted the San Diego Blood Bank’s ability to collect necessary blood and platelet donations.

• Wednesday, January 31, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the San Diego Blood Bank is holding a blood and bone marrow drive on the MiraCosta College Oceanside campus.
• Thursday, February 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Bloodmobile will continue the drive at both the Oceanside and San Elijo campuses.

Walk-ins welcome! Please eat a good meal and drink plenty of fluids before donating blood. All donors must show picture identification. If you would like to schedule an appointment online, go to the San Diego Blood Bank webpage at www.sandiegobloodbank.org and click on “Locate a donor center or mobile drive near you.” Scroll down to the MiraCosta Oceanside or MiraCosta San Elijo blood drive and choose an available time slot.
The Bloodmobile will be parked on the Oceanside campus at 1 Barnard Dr., in the Hub Circle just south of the Library, Bldg. 1200, with free parking available in Lot 1A.
On the San Elijo campus at 3333 Manchester in Cardiff, look for the Bloodmobile in the Main Parking Lot. Free parking for this event is available in Lot 2.
