Oceanside CA— A new documentary film screening titled ‘Women Like Us’ will be held on Sunday, March 4th at 3pm in Oceanside Regal 16 theater. This screening has been brought to Oceanside by Soroptimist International of Oceanside/Carlsbad. With strong female empowerment themes, the film captures dedicated heroines showcasing the positive results that occur when taking the first step to making a difference. Dream on Productions has partnered with Gathr Films, a crowd-sourcing platform titled Theatrical-On-Demand®, to release the film nationwide. ‘Women Like Us’is a film that lifts and motivates the spirit, while taking the audience on a moving journey of exploration, adversity and evolution, as they witness the unimaginable social injustices women face around the globe. Director Sally Colón-Petree, award-winning journalist Catt Sadler, and activist/authorLinda Rendleman, travel the U.S. and Kenya to engage in conversations with more than 14 astounding women creating change in the areas of sex trafficking, female genital mutilation, teen suicide, education, and more. The movie also features actress and television host Sherri Shepherd, plus music by Grammy nominated artist MOBY.
This powerful documentary is a call to action for women everywhere to join together by using their innate skills of compassion, courage and communication, to confront social injustices, promote equality, and educate all humanity.
