Carlsbad CA— The National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI) will hold a free Resource Fair and Community Event to help families and friends as well as those experiencing mental health issues navigate the often confusing array of support and emergency services, health care options and resources available in the North San Diego County area.
The outdoor event, which is open to the public, will be held from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s by the Sea Episcopal Church, 2775 Carlsbad Blvd in Carlsbad, CA.
The NAMI North Coastal San Diego County Chapter has arranged for more than 20 other organizations and vendors who provide resources to members of the community and their family members and supporters. The annual resource fair is held to help benefit those seeking to navigate North San Diego’s mental health landscape.
While general community members and family are invited, the fair may also prove helpful to caregivers, social workers, therapists, medical personnel, first responders, and medical staff in emergency departments
NAMI North Coastal San Diego County is a non-profit organization offering support, education and advocacy for everyone affected by mental illness, as well as their loved ones and supporters.
The nearly all volunteer organization offers support groups and programs in both English and Spanish. In addition, they help provide information about:

• Walk-in centers, behavioral health programs, recovery classes and inpatient/outpatient programs at psychiatric hospitals
• Food, shelter and legal aid resources
• Crisis line information
• Education for consumers and family members about mental illness.
