Los Angeles CA— At a recent LA Galaxy matchup against Minnesota United, a very unique soccer fan was recognized. United States Marine Corps, Staff Sergeant Mohammed Wali was honored by Papa John’s Southern California and LA Galaxy as part of the ‘Hero of the Game’ initiative for the 2018 season.
Staff Sergeant Wali is in his seventh year of service as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Throughout his time serving, he has been deployed on two combat tours to Afghanistan and Yemen as an infantryman. Staff Sergeant Wali accolades include a combat active ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, National Defense Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. Since his recent return, he currently serves as a Combat Instructor at the infantry school at Camp Pendleton to train and guide other passionate Marines.
In addition to being honored, he was treated to tickets to the game, free Papa John’s pizzas, and dinner in the American Express Stadium Club.
