Oceanside CA— The Oceanside Yacht Club hosted its 16th annual Charity Regatta to benefit The Elizabeth Hospice August 4th and 5th, 2018 at the Oceanside Yacht Club, located 1950 Harbor Drive North, Oceanside. 25′ to 50′ sailboats, including twenty-two boats visiting from yacht clubs up and down the coast, competed for trophies while demonstrating their support for this local nonprofit organization that cares for children and adults with life-limiting illnesses.
“We had good winds, great competition and no collisions. It was a great weekend,” said OYC Commodore, Steve Ford. “We really enjoy raising funds for The Elizabeth Hospice. It helps us all feel like we are a part of the community.”
“Oceanside Yacht Club chose The Elizabeth Hospice as the beneficiary of our Charity Regatta because of the important work they are doing for the people in our community,” said Terri Manok, Oceanside Yacht Club Charity Regatta Chair. “The organization’s compassionate caregivers bring comfort and counsel to people and their families during challenging times. By donating the proceeds from the event to The Elizabeth Hospice, we are showing our appreciation for the services they offer to all who are in need.”
Since 2002, the OYC has raised close to $300,000 to benefit the services and programs of The Elizabeth Hospice.
