Oceanside CA— When Midnight Jack Brewing owner’s, Kathy and John Scheri invited Vicki Barbolak to perform her Oceanside Victory Dance comedy show at their Echo Room venue, they did not expect it to include a Vow Renewal Ceremony to celebrate their anniversary. But that is what will happen on Friday, October 19, before Vicki’s comedy performance.
The connection between Vicki’s comedy show and the Scheri’s anniversary may not seem obvious, but devoted fans of Vicki Barbolak know that while comedy is her passion, Vicki’s first love is officiating Wedding and Vow Renewal celebrations. “I love weddings and I love marrying people… to each other” quipped Vicki, “I am not just a Wedding Officiant, but more of a Ceremony Celebrant! Who wants to be officiated when they can be celebrated.”
Upon learning that the Scheri’s are celebrating their 24th anniversary the same week she is performing her first Oceanside hometown comedy show since her “America’s Got Talent” finale, Vicki offered to help the couple celebrate with a special Vow Renewal ceremony before her show.
Befitting of her “Trailer Trophy Wife,” image, Vicki and her “Wedding Chapel To Go” van are dressed in pink leopard-print trim for a ceremony like no other. On October 19, around 6pm Vicki and her van will roll-up and perform a pop-up ceremony to celebrate Kathy and John’s anniversary in a truly unique style that only Vicki can deliver.
But wait, there’s more! After the ceremony everyone is invited into the brewery to keep the celebration going. Food and libations will be available for purchase and are not included with the ticket for the comedy show, which begins at 7:15pm.
Midnight Jack’s co-owner Kathy Scheri is almost as excited about watching Vicki perform her comedy show, as she is the Vow Renewal Ceremony, “Vicki first performed with us as part of the Comedy Heights show in mid-June and brought down the house. Like many, we spent our summer voting for Vicki on AGT and were thrilled when she was voted in to the finals. That’s why we are so excited and honored to be hosting Vicki’s only North County appearance.”
In addition to Vicki performing, she will be joined by Maria Herman of Comedy Heights and LA’s finest lady of comedy, Julie Follette. Tickets start at $22 for general admission and $27 for premium seating. There is a 2 drink minimum. M & M Tacos will be on hand for some delicious snacks starting at 5:30pm.
