San Marcos CA— The Lake San Marcos Republican Women Federated (LSMRWF) are looking forward to celebrating veterans at our annual “Salute to Veterans” dinner on Monday, November 5, 2018. Wonderful pictures of our friends and family who served at some time and in some place will be proudly displayed – truly pieces of history.
Those veterans in attendance will be especially honored. Guest speaker this year will be Mike Slater of “The Mike Slater Show” on KFMB760. Mike hails from Skaneateles, New York, a small town outside of Syracuse. The Yale alumnus was recruited to the Ivy League university for the swim team. He is also a marathoner and triathlete. He studied history and wrote for the Yale Daily News plus worked at Yale Radio. Named one of the Top 5 “Young Guns” of Talk Radio, Mike added to his credits a 90-minute interview with then GOP front-runner, Donald Trump. His speaking focuses on 5 values that he feels most inspire a virtuous life: curiosity, gratitude, hope, zest and love. He is the father to two young ones whose lives inspired him to write “Imagine Jack and the History Kids” tales that combine his 2 greatest passions – his children and history. He is also the author of “How to Change Someone’s Mind”
