North County Heart Walk – October 20

North+County+Heart+Walk+-+October+20

Oceanside CA— We invite everyone to join us at the 2nd Annual American Heart Association North County Heart Walk, Saturday, October 20 at the Oceanside SOCAL Sports Complex (3302 Senior Center Dr, Oceanside, CA 92056). The Expo opens at 7:00AM, with opening ceremonies beginning at 7:45AM. The North County Heart Walk is presented by Tri-City Medical Center.
We are excited to build on the success of last year’s North County Heart Walk. We are especially pleased to include local bands as part of this year’s festivities, as well as expanding our Healthy for Good Zone to feature more interactive opportunities. This will allow participants to better understand how the decisions they make impact their overall health, as well as learn how small changes can lead to improved health. The objective is to provide participants with simple tips tailored to
their personal health goals.
The Heart Walk is also a great opportunity to invest in your own heart health. Walking or participating in any exercise that raises your heartrate can boost your energy, strength and mood, while fending off serious health issues like obesity, high blood pressure, poor cholesterol and bone loss. Research has shown that adding more steps to your day could add years to your life – and to the life of those walking with you, including your pets (The Heart Walk is a dog-friendly event – remember the leash). Walking also has the lowest drop-out rate of any exercise.
We want to reinforce that being more active doesn’t have to be hard – take the stairs, park further away, ditch the conference room and take your meeting on a walk. The key is to find activities you enjoy and make them part of your daily routine. The Heart Walk is a great place to start that routine.
Join us October 20th to learn more about heart and brain health, as well as what the American Heart Association is doing in North County and how your support is improving the overall heart and brain health of the region. The impact of the funds raised and how they are invested will be on display all around you. You’ll see your dollars at work when you meet survivors of congenital heart disease, heart attack, stroke, and heart disease. The moment you contribute to the Heart Walk, you are contributing to, witnessing, and progressing life-saving science. We can’t save lives without your support. Together, we are continuing to improve the heart and brain health of North County.
The North County Heart Walk is brought to North County by Tri-City Medical Center as part of the Life is Why platform.
