Carlsbad CA— Internationally acclaimed pianist Violeta Petrova will bring her renowned talent to Carlsbad on Saturday evening, November 3, when she performs a variety of works at Fall Flair: A Musical Journey of Discovery, a fundraising event presented by the Rotary Club of Carlsbad.
The event begins at 6 p.m. at the Carlsbad City Library’s Schulman Auditorium with cocktail hour and a silent auction. The concert will begin at 7 p.m., followed by a post-concert reception with a bar and finger foods. Ms. Petrova will sign autographs and engage in meet-and-greet following her performance. Silent auction winners will be announced between 8 and 8:15 p.m.
For the evening, Ms. Petrova will perform five works spanning the past 200 years: Beethoven’s Sonata Pathethiqe, Op. 13, First Movement; Chopin’s Barcarolle, Op. 60, Prokofieff’s Romeo & Juliet, Op. 75: The Montagues and Capulets; Shchedrin’s Humoresque in Style of Albeniz; and Vladigerov’s Dilmano Dilbero, variations on the theme of a Bulgarian folk song.
In addition to Ms. Petrova’s performance, the evening will feature an Opportunity Drawing and silent auction for gift packages and other choice items. Proceeds from the evening will go to support senior citizens in Carlsbad, reading/literacy and mentoring programs for Carlsbad youth, and support for the Marines on Camp Pendleton.
Tickets are $35 for general seating, and $45 for preferred seating. Those prices increase to $40 and $50 after October 28. Attendees can purchase tickets through Event Brite (https://bit.ly/2pMzxcM).
During her more than 50-year career, Ms. Petrova has performed as a soloist and in collaboration with international musicians for decades in a dozen nations throughout Europe, Asia and the United States.
