Oceanside CA— In the spirit of the holiday season, Oceanside held the third annual ‘Tis the Season Window Decorating Contest as part of the program and event lineup of ‘Tis the Season to Shop Local. A total of 15 businesses throughout Oceanside participated by decorating their shop windows and storefronts to the theme of ‘Tis the Season. A panel of local judges viewed the holiday displays and have selected the following winners:

First place: Gypsy Den Boutique

Gypsy Den Boutique in South Oceanside is the ‘Tis the Season Window Decorating Contest winner. Of the first-place window display, Judge Blake Kern said, “Gypsy Den Boutique is classy and inviting. It elevates the South Oceanside walkable district as you enjoy a nice clean look from the outside.”

Second place: Saint Tropez Bistro & Beyond

New to the community, Saint Tropez Bistro & Beyond in Downtown Oceanside took second place. Judge Dick Bartlett said, “The lighting made this location attractive to those driving or walking by Saint Tropez Bistro and Beyond, and they also have great pastries to enjoy with the festive decorations.”

Third place: Stage and Screen FX

Last year’s ‘Tis the Season Window Decorating Contest winner, Stage and Screen FX, took third place this year. Judge CJ DiMento said of the Downtown Oceanside display, “Stage and Screen FX had a very nice decorative storefront with blow-up characters above their sign and candy cane-wrapped poles! The storefront decoration complements their makeup products and fun gifts for your family!”
Thank you to all ‘Tis the Season to Shop Local Participating Shops who decorated their storefronts in 2018 and competed for a total of $475 in cash prizes.
’Tis the Season to Shop Local is a fun, distinctly local holiday celebration inviting our community to explore Oceanside retail establishments and to shop local this holiday season. From Small Business Saturday, Nov. 24, through the South O Walkabout today, Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, this unique and dynamic lineup of holiday programs and events features a shopping passport, two craft beer and wine tasting events, a makers fair offering handcrafted goods, and a tree lighting celebration — all amid decorated shop windows, the glow of holiday lights and the cheerful sounds of live holiday music and carolers.
