Encinitas CA— Events, Classes and special events happening this month at the SD Botanic Garden, 230 Quail Gardens Drive in Encinitas.
Saturday, June 22, 10 am – 4 pm. Seeds of Wonder. San Diego Botanic Garden. 230 Quail Gardens Drive. Entrance to this event is included with paid admission or SDBG membership.
Fairy Festival. Calling all young fairies! Come celebrate summer at the Garden with your friends and enjoy fun crafts, live music with Ruth & Emilian and Twinkletime, the Wishing Bush, Fairy Princesses and more! Each Thursday, June 6 – July 18 (except for July 4th), 6-7 pm. Seeds of Wonder. San Diego Botanic Garden. 230 Quail Gardens Drive. Entrance to this event is included with paid admission or SDBG membership.

Blue Star Museum Program. The San Diego Botanic Garden is proud to participate in the Blue Star Museum program, offering free admission to all active duty, National Guard and Reserve members of the U.S. military and their families (card carrier plus 5 immediate family members). 13th Annual Lung Hsiang Exhibit and Sale. The 13th Annual Lung Hsiang Exhibit and Sale features original Chinese Brush Paintings created by members of the Lung Hsiang chapter of the American Artists of Chinese Brush Painting – a group that has been painting together for over 25 years! Sunday, June 16, 9 am – 12 pm. San Diego Botanic Garden. 230 Quail Gardens Drive. Members: $30, Non-Members $36, plus an $80 materials fee paid directly to instructor on day of class.
Living Wall/Vertical Garden. Learn the basics of planting a living wall. Students will be planting a 10” x 12” wall utilizing a variety of succulents. Vertical gardens can be planted on exterior or interior walls with plants creating a multitude of colors, textures and sizes. REGISTER EARLY! THIS CLASS WILL SELL OUT! (Ages 18+). Forest/Nature Bathing. Shinrin-yoku – or Forest Bathing – is a way of connecting people with nature. The positive health effects of simply being in and walking around in a state of relaxation in nature has undergone significant scientific testing and validation in Japan and Korea. Jewelry for the Wall. Using beautiful glass and mini ceramic tiles as our fabric and millefiori as our thread, we will weave a rich tapestry around our mirrors using a variety of materials including glitter glass, jewels, gems, ball chain, copper tubing and beads. Natural Curiosities Journaling. Spend the day learning how to capture and record the details of nature that we sometimes overlook. Plants, stones, pods and other natural structures have amazing shapes that are intriguing to draw and paint. Discover ways to document findings in a watercolor journal to hold onto and paint in year after year.
