San Diego CA— Promises2Kids, one of San Diego’s foremost nonprofits with a focus on foster care, received a donation of $150,000 from Ascension Leadership Academy (ALA), in support of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. ALA conducts trainings that are experiential in nature with a strong focus on developing emotional intelligence (EQ), the number one contributing factor of success in both personal and business endeavors. As part of its curriculum to increase self-discovery and self-confidence, ALA participants engage in an assertive one-month campaign to support an area nonprofit.
Promises2Kids was selected over 61 other charities and throughout the month funds were raised via community events, a car wash, online fundraising and corporate giving.
“We’re truly honored that Ascension Leadership Academy has selected Promises2Kids for this generous donation,” said Tonya Torosian, CEO of Promises2Kids. “We recognize and appreciate the hard work of ALA participants, and the support of the organization. This contribution will help make difference in the lives of foster youth living in San Diego.”
Brad Ballard, co-founder of ALA, said, “Our mission is to move and inspire people to live their passion; to create a world where people are excited about life and wanting to give back. A key part of this mission is finding powerful ways to have our members support nonprofit organizations in our community.”
The donation will support Promises2Kids’ Guardian Scholars and Camp Connect Programs. Promises2Kids creates a brighter future for foster children in San Diego. From the moment they come into foster care and through to adulthood, Promises2Kids provides the hope, support, and opportunities these special individuals need to change their lives for the better… now and for years to come.
