Drs. Steffanie Strathdee and Thomas Patterson will discuss and sign their new book, The Perfect Predator: A Scientist’s Race to Save Her Husband from a Deadly Superbug, about one woman’s extraordinary effort to save her husband’s life. Dr. Strathdee is an infectious disease epidemiologist and Associate Dean of Global Health Sciences and Harold Simon Chair at the UCSD School of Medicine. Dr. Patterson is an evolutionary sociobiologist, an experimental psychologist and a Professor of Psychiatry at UCSD.

On the 50th anniversary of the “Topgun” Navy Fighter School, its founder, Dan Pedersen, published Topgun: An American Story, sharing the inside story of how he and eight other risk-takers revolutionized the art of aerial combat and formed the “Topgun” program at Naval Air Station Miramar in 1969. He retired as a captain, having accumulated 6,100 flight hours and 1,005 carrier landings while flying 39 types of aircraft.

Return to Green Gables with Sarah McCoy, bestselling author of Marilla of Green Gables, and explore nostalgic recipes with Jenne Bergstrom and Miko Osada, authors of The Little Women Cookbook: Novel Takes on Classic Recipes from Meg, Jo, Beth, Amy and Friends.
Each program will include a discussion with the authors followed by a book signing.
