GoodDog! Autism Companions Expands Services to Help Other Disabilities
Fallbrook CA— GoodDog! Autism Companions, a service dog organization that provides working dogs to families of autistic children nationwide, will host a virtual event where they will announce an expansion of their services and a major rebranding. The company initially planned to host an in-person celebratory event at One Law Love Studio in Encinitas to reveal its new name, logo, service dog vests, website, and merchandise. However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the party was canceled. Already set up as a virtual organization, which is unusual for the service dog industry, GoodDog! is showing off their innovative skills by hosting their virtual party via Zoom; while at the same time live-streaming on YouTube.
Of the company’s decision to shift its event online, founder and executive director Laura Sylvester said, “I’m so excited that we have switched the party online because now we can invite families and trainers nationwide, along with their dogs, who wouldn’t have been able to join in the fun.” The rebrand itself was initiated because the company realized that families with children who have multiple diagnoses or other disabilities, could benefit from their service dog program. Sylvester commented on the rebrand saying, “We ran trials and discovered that other kids and families can benefit from a Good Dog, too; not just those with autism. So we are expanding our current services to provide for a wider population.”
In addition to the rebranding agenda, the virtual event will provide opportunities to interact with and recognize those who have contributed to GoodDog!’s success and expansion:
- Thanks to volunteers and Taproot Plus, Good Dog received approximately $80,000 in donated services toward the rebrand.
- The company has expanded its Board of Directors and multi-disciplinary expertise.
- During the virtual party, attendees can participate in engaging, tailored, online activities to help reveal the components of the rebrand, making it a uniquely interactive event.
