San Diego CA— Second Chance Program has launched an online Job Readiness Program (JRT) to help formerly incarcerated San Diegans find work and build pathways to self-sufficiency and economic prosperity.
During this virtual four week program, participants engage in 160 hours of intensive instruction in which they break down personal barriers to employment, develop new skills, create résumés, and master interviewing techniques. The program includes virtual group exercises, supplemented by one-on-one Zoom sessions with staff who help identify potential employment opportunities.
The four-week training is hosted Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., during which participants acquire critical skills needed to gain and retain employment, such as time and resource management, a professional attitude, and teamwork. The first cohort of JRT graduates will complete the program on May 22, 2020.
The program is offered at no cost to participants. While it is built for individuals with criminal backgrounds, the program is open to anyone over 18 who needs assistance.
