San Diego CA— The Immunotherapy Foundation (IF), a San Diego-based non-profit organization working to eradicate HPV-driven cancers by funding cancer research and prevention programs, raised nearly $16,000 during a one-day virtual community bike ride with the Peloton community on June 20th. Nearly 100 individuals participated in the event internationally in celebration of “A World Without Cancer Day”, an awareness event launched by San Diego non-profit organization Padres Pedal the Cause.
The Immunotherapy Foundation came together with community partners Padres Pedal the Cause and the Peloton Community for a virtual live ride called “A World Without Cancer,” held to raise awareness and support cures for cancer by funding the missions of both organizations.
United with the goal of ending cancer, these organizations asked their communities and all Peloton riding communities to dedicate their ride or other Peloton activity to a cancer fighter they know and donate on their behalf. Together, The Immunotherapy Foundation and Padres Pedal the Cause raised nearly $16,000 through this Peloton event, helping to bring total funds raised for A World Without Cancer Day to over $120,000 at the time of this release.
The funds raised through this partnered community ride will be evenly divided between the Immunotherapy Foundation and Padres Pedal the Cause, two organizations dedicated to accelerating cures for cancer by funding translational research and clinical trials in Southern California. Together, these two organizations have raised nearly $18 million in the past 7 years and collectively funded 54 translational grants, 2 team science awards, 6 clinical trials, a discovery platform for personalized cancer therapies, built a state of the art cell therapy laboratory, expanded access to immunotherapy clinical trials, and supported HPV cancer prevention and education programs.
