Enterprise Fill Your Tank® program focuses on fighting hunger around the globe

San Diego CA— Through its Fill Your Tank program, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation awarded a $50,000 gift to Feeding San Diego. Since 2017, the foundation has contributed $232,500 to Feeding San Diego to help end hunger throughout San Diego County. The recent gift supports the organization’s ongoing hunger-relief efforts — even more crucial as Feeding San Diego works to address an estimated 50% increase in need due to the COVID-19 crisis.
“The coronavirus pandemic is exasperating the hunger crisis throughout San Diego County,” said Gavon Morris, Chief Development and Marketing Officer of Feeding San Diego. “We are grateful for Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation and their ongoing commitment to ending hunger in the communities where their employees live and work.”
From April 1 to June 30, Feeding San Diego provided more than 9.2 million meals to the community through local food distributions and youth meal sites, an increase of 54% compared to the same period in the prior year. In tandem with community giving, contributions from corporate foundations make Feeding San Diego’s ongoing hunger-relief services possible.
“Enterprise Rent-A-Car is woven into the fabric of the San Diego County community and food insecurity is an issue for our community,” said Brian Newman, Regional Vice President. “This donation to Feeding San Diego will support those in San Diego County who need a little help to reach their full potential.”
The Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation has donated $40 million to food banks around the world as part of Enterprise’s Fill Your Tank program. Launched in late 2016, the Fill Your Tank program is a companywide initiative that was created to celebrate Enterprise’s 60th anniversary by providing a total of $60 million to address food insecurity around the globe. Over a six-year period, the Foundation is distributing $10 million each year to food banks and charities throughout North America and Europe, as well as local food banks and pantries in North American communities served by Enterprise. The latest distribution marks the program’s fourth year of giving.
