San Diego CA— At this point in 2020, most people can relate to the photo of Baloo, the Himalayan black bear, above.
Lions Tigers & Bears, San Diego’s only accredited big cat and bear sanctuary, has a worry-free, festive remedy! Skip the tricks this year, and treat yourself for a new Halloween tradition, the Pumpkin Bash.
Wild animals have the spotlight for the special, guided exotic animal sanctuary visit on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m.. Visitors are invited to come in costume to watch as rescued animals devour stuffed pumpkins, splash around in their pool, and play around with their siblings.
These activities are limited capacity, and the sanctuary requires families to reserve their space in advance online or by calling 619-659-8078. Member pricing is $30 for adults and $15 for kids, and for nonmembers, $60 for adults and $35 for kids.
All proceeds benefit the rescued animals, providing food, enrichment, habitat maintenance, veterinary care and more. Lions Tigers & Bears is enforcing guidelines ensuring a safe sanctuary visit, including limiting group sizes and requiring face coverings and a 6-foot physical distance between visitors, volunteers and staff.
