San Diego County McDonald’s® Kicks Off Round-Up for RMHC Campaign with Lunch Donation at San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House

Customers Can Donate to RMHC by Rounding Up Their Purchase to the Nearest Whole Dollar

San Diego CA— Giving San Diegans a simple way to give back to families with a hospitalized child this holiday season, San Diego County McDonald’s restaurants celebrate the kickoff of their Round-Up for RMHC campaign by providing a complimentary lunch to families staying at San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House.
Families served by San Diego’s Ronald McDonald house were treated to a warm, McDonald’s meal and a chance to relax and refuel before going back to support their critically ill or injured child in the hospital. The lunch donation highlights how rounding up to the nearest whole dollar on the purchase of a warm meal at a local San Diego County McDonald’s restaurant can provide the opportunity to give back to families at San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House.
As part of its continued commitment to innovation and technology, McDonald’s developed Round-Up for RMHC technology to serve as an additional donation option for customers as our society becomes increasingly cashless. The innovative technology provides customers the opportunity to round-up their purchase to the nearest whole dollar, regardless of what payment method they prefer. Customers simply select the “Round-Up for RMHC” button at checkout on the kiosks or let the drive-thru cashier know they would like to round-up their purchase.
“We are thankful to McDonald’s customers for their support and generosity during an unprecedented year,” said Leslie Mannes, a San Diego County McDonald’s Owner and member of the RMHC San Diego board of trustees. “Each donation, no matter what size, makes an impact on local families with a hospitalized child by keeping families close to one another and providing a home away from home as their child receives the medical care they need.”
