San Diego County CA— Local nonprofit United Way of San Diego County’s (UWSD) inaugural “Holiday Crockpot Drive” is underway and will continue through Friday, Nov. 12. The organization hopes to collect enough donations to purchase 200 new crockpots for San Diego military families experiencing food insecurity.
Through this drive, UWSD is providing more than a crockpot. It’s providing ways to cook at home, sustainability, the opportunity to stretch a dollar, and most importantly bringing families together over dinner. Each donation will contribute a lifetime of warm meals and memories for the families that sacrifice so much for our community and country.
UNITED WE CAN help children and families experiencing food insecurity have a warm meal not only this holiday season, but for many years to come.
Monetary donations can be made online via the UWSD website above. The public can also drop off new crock pots at the front of the UWSD office at 4699 Murphy Canyon Rd., San Diego, CA 92123. In-person drop offs can only be made on Wednesday, Nov. 3 and Wednesday, Nov. 10.
