Credit Union’s Teacher Grant Program Provides $5,000 to Fund Innovative San Diego Learning Projects

San Diego CA— The 4^th graders at Richland Elementary School in San Marcos will have new classroom libraries, thanks to funding from North Island Credit Union through its Fall 2021 Teacher Grant program. As part of its commitment to help educators create innovative learning opportunities for their students, the credit union has provided 10 grants of $500 each to underwrite class projects in San Diego County. The credit union grants will fund a diverse range of programs illustrating the creativity and commitment teachers bring to their classrooms and communities.
Richland Elementary School Teacher Grant Recipient Heather Bucaroff will use the funds to revamp the school’s 4^th grade classroom libraries, getting more books into the hands of 130 students, who will also help with the book selection process.
