Oceanside CA— Applications are now being accepted for the 2018 Miss Oceanside and Miss Teen Oceanside Scholarship Pageant to be held on April 14th. The annual pageant is sponsored by the Oceanside Sea Lions with proceeds going to scholarships and Lions charities with an emphasis on sight conservation.
Single girls living in Oceanside between the ages of 13-24 are eligible for the two pageants. The queens and princesses become goodwill ambassadors for the City of Oceanside, the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, and the Oceanside Sea Lions and appear at various city and community events throughout the year gaining community service hours. The reigning Miss Teen Oceanside is: Lauren Bell, and Miss Oceanside is: Maggie Islas.
An orientation meeting will be held on Wed, Jan. 31st at 6:30 pm at the Mission Branch Library, at 3861 Mission Avenue in Oceanside. Parents are encouraged to attend as well.
Contestants will be given coaching on personal interviews, poise, walking, speaking on stage, presentation, and confidence building. It’s a positive and fun experience for all.
