Hedgerow+Planting+Day+%E2%80%93+January+20%2C+2018

San Diego CA— The Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego County is organizing a Hedgerow Planting Day at the Tijuana River Valley Community Garden. Volunteers are welcome to join in the activities and learn about the benefits of native hedgerows and how to plant them.
Hedgerows – which are lines of different types of bushes/shrubs grown close together – can increase the beauty, productivity and biodiversity of a garden or property. These native plants will attract beneficial pollinators, use minimal water, and help provide wind protection to the Community Garden. Volunteers will learn all about hedgerows, while contributing to the health and beauty of the Tijuana River Valley Regional Park.
The RCD will provide tools and refreshments for volunteers, but participants are encouraged to bring their own shovel and gloves, if possible. Volunteers should meet at the corner of Hollister Street and Sunset Avenue by the gazebo.
