Benefiting Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls, Friday, March 23 through Sunday, March 25
San Diego CA— Ladies Rock San Diego (LRSD), an empowering rock camp for women 18 and older, comes to San Diego for the first time Friday, March 23 through Sunday, March 25, at A Reason to Survive (A.R.T.S.) in National City. At LRSD, participants form a band, learn an instrument, write an original song and perform it live at Queen Bee’s all in just three days. LRSD is a powerful program created to bring females together to encourage, empower and collaborate with each other. All proceeds from LRSD go to Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls San Diego, a nonprofit organization that brings the community together to empower girls through music education.
“Ladies Rock San Diego is a fast-paced empowerment boot camp for women to come together and collaborate, all while benefitting their younger counterparts at Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls San Diego,” said Melissa Grove, founder and president of Ladies Rock San Diego and Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls San Diego. “It’s the best way for women to team build, spend a weekend with friends, learn a new instrument and simply have fun!”
Over the course of a weekend, participants engage in instrument instruction, band coaching, empowering workshops, original song writing, a professional photo shoot and tie the weekend together by rocking out live! LRSD instructors include some of San Diego’s most talented female musicians like Veronica May, Megan Love, Kinnie Dye, Paige Miller and Emma Byrd.
LRSD is on Friday, March 23 from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday, March 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, March 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at A.R.T.S., 200 East 12th Street, National City, CA. Tuition is $275. LRSD is for any female identified individual ages 18 and over. There are limited spots available, so those who are interested are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
The showcase will take place on Sunday, March 25 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Queen Bee’s. Doors open for friends, family and guests at 3:30 p.m.! Tickets are $10. The event is open to the public and all ages.
