Ride Above Disability Therapeutic Riding Center organizes second annual Barn Dance Fundraiser to raise funds

San Diego CA— Dust off those ol’ cowboy boots and grab a partner! Ride Above Disability Therapeutic Riding Center, a nonprofit organization providing equestrian activities to children and adults with special needs, invites the community to its Poway center for a night of line dancing and entertainment on June 9.
Beginning at 6 p.m., adults are invited to a barn dance to benefit the organization that continues to change its client’s lives through horsemanship and riding. Attendees can expect a night filled with line dancing, a silent auction and dinner and drinks. At last year’s inaugural Barn Dance fundraiser, Ride Above raised over $6,000, allowing them to serve more students at the lowest price possible.
“Last year was a big year for our nonprofit. The Barn Dance Fundraiser was the most money we’ve raised at an event and we grew our facility astronomically,” said Executive Director of Ride Above Disability Therapeutic Riding Center, Wayne Jackson. “Each and every dollar donated to us goes directly to supporting the therapy horses and our amazing riders.”
Ride Above Disability Therapeutic Riding Center provides unique, tailored lessons to fit each rider’s needs and goals. Verbal communication, core strength, balance, coordination, and socialization are just some of the many benefits of therapeutic horseback riding. The organization launched in 2014 and since has served over 53 students with disabilities. The organization needs more donations and volunteers to keep up with demand.
The event is on Saturday, June 9 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Ticket costs $35 for one person or $60 for two and includes dinner, one drink and dancing. To purchase a ticket that supports Ride Above Disability, contact Cyndie Bradley at accounts@radtrc.org.
