9th Annual Rubin Family Show featuring the Rubin Family, Family Friends & Artists with Developmental Disabilities from Sophie’s Gallery
San Diego CA— St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center (SMSC) will present its 9th Annual Rubin Family Show, True Blue, at Sophie’s Kensington Gallery (4168 Adams Avenue). The show will run from June 2nd – June 30th, with a public reception at Sophie’s Kensington Gallery on June 2nd from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
True Blue, an art exhibit featuring the Rubin family, family friends and artists with developmental disabilities from Sophie’s Gallery, all highlighting the color blue. The show will include watercolors, mosaics, mixed media, paintings and photography. Sophie’s artists created a series of mixed media sculptural pieces using corks, spools, wood pieces and other objects all painted baby blue.
Siblings, June and Linda Rubin, will unite to honor the memory of their mother, Donna Rubin, who professionally painted as Gayle Grant at this annual show. June has her own gallery at NTC Liberty Station and Linda specializes in mosaic art at Sophie’s Gallery.
St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center serves more than 400 adults with developmental disabilities through nationally recognized, innovative programs. Its mission is to educate and empower individuals with developmental disabilities to realize their full potential. Developmental disabilities include autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other cognitive disorders for which there are no cures.
