San Diego’s Pride celebration has grown to become a premier event in California for the LGBTQ+ community, featuring a block party, mile-long parade through Hillcrest and two-day festival in Balboa Park. On Friday, July 13 at 7 p.m., the Pride of Hillcrest Block Party will kick off the weekend of festivities. On Saturday, July 14, over 200,000 cheering spectators and thousands of participants, including Team SDCCU, will gather for the annual San Diego LGBTQ+ Pride Parade. The parade—fourth largest of its kind in the United States—begins at 11 a.m. at University Ave. and Normal St.
The festival will feature more than 300 exhibit booths, including SDCCU’s, three stages of entertainment, music, comedy and dance performers, an art exhibit, farmers market, beer gardens, wine grotto, children’s garden and food. The festival is held Saturday, July 14, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, July 15, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The SDCCU Hillcrest Branch is located at the corner of 5^th and University avenues. The branch is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Just a block away at the corner of 6^th and University avenues is the SDCCU ATM that distributes $1, $5 and $20 bills.
