San Diego CA— USO San Diego has announced that Gene W. James, CPP, has been elected to a second term as Chairman of its Board of Directors. James currently serves as Principal of Genesis Security Partners. He recently retired from his position as Director, Asset Protection with Jack in the Box, Inc. Previously, he was Vice President of Security and Risk Management for AVI Foodsystems, Senior Loss Prevention Manager with YUM Restaurants, Divisional Loss Prevention Manager with KFC, and District Loss Control Manager with Kmart Corporation. James is also an adjunct faculty member at Palomar College.

James is originally from Elkhorn, Nebraska. He served in the United States Army Military Police from 1972 to 1992 with 15 of 20 years being served in various overseas locations and deployed units. James has been recognized in federal and state courts as an expert witness on premises liability and workplace violence. He has served in a number of volunteer leadership positions with professional, industry and nonprofit organizations, including; four terms as Board Chair of STAR/PAL; two terms as President of Crime Stoppers of San Diego County; Board Member of Crime Stoppers of San Diego County; Two terms as President of the National Food Service Security Council; Council Member of the National Retail Federation’s Loss Prevention Advisory Council; and Regional Vice President of ASIS International.
