San Diego CA—The San Diego Military Advisory Council (SDMAC) Board of Directors has announced the retirement of Captain Randy Bogle, USN (Ret) as the organization’s Executive Director. Bogle served as the organization’s executive director since December 2015.
“Over the past two years, Captain Bogle has led SDMAC with distinction. He is passionate about his support for the men and women who wear the cloth of our nation and their families,” said Dennis DuBard, Chair of the SDMAC Executive Committee. “We wish him and his family fair winds and following seas.”
Bogle is a 1968 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he returned for a tour as Commandant of Midshipmen. A Navy helicopter pilot, he served in command positions at sea and ashore. After 31 years on active duty, he retired from the military and subsequently spent 15 years with defense contractor L-3 DPA prior to serving as the second executive director of SDMAC.
Bogle will be succeeded by Rear Admiral Mark Balmert, USN (Ret) on October 1.
“It has been my honor and pleasure to serve as SDMAC’s Executive Director,” said Bogle. “I consider my time in this capacity a salute to all those who serve our country in uniform, especially those 140,000 men and women and their families who are stationed in the San Diego region. I know SDMAC will continue to effectively execute their mission to educate and advocate on behalf of our Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard under the leadership of Rear Admiral Balmert.”
Balmert recently retired from BAE Systems Ship Repair San Diego, and is currently the 2018 SDMAC Board President. A 32-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, he led diverse organizations including operational commands and held financial management leadership positions before retiring at the rank of Rear Admiral.
“Admiral Balmert brings a wealth of experience into this organization and we are thrilled to have him onboard,” DuBard said.
