A Heralded Fall Tradition

Del Mar CA— Jump into the fall season with an adventure fueled by awe-inspiring creativity and outlandish fun.
The 2018 Harvest Festival® Original Art & Craft Show, comes to the Del Mar Fairgrounds Friday through Sunday October 12-14 with more than 24,000 original and handmade works from hundreds of trend-setting artisans and crafters.
With live entertainment, strolling performers, specialty foods, an interactive Kidzone, contests, and demonstrations, the celebration serves up an intimate experience best shared with family and friends.
Recognized as the largest and most prestigious indoor showcase on the west coast, its quality presentation sets an industry standard. More than 300 multi-talented artists & crafters will showcase their originals of stunning jewelry, clothing, specialty foods, photography, oils, hand-turned wood, ceramics, eclectic art pieces, seasonal décor, Halloween accessories, ornaments, and blown glass, among others. Patrons know with confidence that each of the works is made by hand and selected only after meeting criteria for excellence. Many of the artists can personalize items for the extra special holiday gift.
“It’s all about sharing in an immersive experience that touches the heart,” says Nancy Glenn, the Festival’s owner. “Whether you’re a DIY devotee, an avid art collector, or a Festival-goer, our presentation brings together emerging artists whose passions spark excitement and new trends.”
The Festival gives back to the community by partnering with the North County Food Bank to offer $2 off general admission to patrons who bring canned goods for donation. The Greyhound Adoption Center is a beneficiary by hosting the parcel check, and Macaroni Kid serves up “make ‘n’ take” enjoyment in the Kidzone. The San Diego Union Tribune is the official daily newspaper.
A sampling of local participating artisans include: San Diego’s “Farmgirl Crafts” by Megan Kim with organic, gluten-free/vegan “Lick it Lillipops;” Vistas’ Sylvi Harwin with “Eclat” colorized aluminum jewelry; Oceanside’s Jeff Nadler Wildlife Photography; Brandon Hubbard of La Mesa with INKredibleDESIGN hand drawn artistic maps; hand-crafted Gourdes by Grace Swanson of Encintas; Folk artist Bonnie Rochester Nuzzo of Solano Beach; wooden castle building blocks by Blocksmith Peter Dzlulak of Oceanside; and San Clemente’s Jolie Mesmre with handcrafted Laguna Sea Salts and Alyssa Grant with Travel Laundry Bags.
