Orientation and information meeting-Wednesday January 30
Oceanside CA— Applications are now being accepted for the 2019 Miss Oceanside and Miss Teen Oceanside Scholarship Pageant, sponsored by the Oceanside Sea Lions.
The pageant will be held on March 30th at 6:00 pm at the James Truax Performing Arts Center, next to El Camino High School. Interested single girls, living in Oceanside between the ages of 13-24 are eligible to enter. The pageant will be judged on personality, poise, interview skills, question on stage and overall look and presentation.
Eight winners will be chosen and will become goodwill ambassadors for the City of Oceanside, the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, and the Oceanside Sea Lions and will appear at various city and charity functions gaining community service hours. A cash scholarship and other prizes will also be presented to the winners.
All proceeds from the pageant go to scholarships and other Lions charities with an emphasis on sight conservation.
The Oceanside Sea Lions have been presenting the Miss Oceanside Scholarship Pageant since 1981. Prior to that, the Oceanside Junior Chamber of Commerce coordinated the event. Barbara Mandrell was Miss Oceanside in 1965.
An orientation and information meeting will be held Wed, Jan. 30th at 6:00 pm at the Mission Branch Library at 3861 Mission Avenue, Oceanside , Ca 92057.
