Escondido CA— As we approach the sixth week of the government shutdown, Interfaith Community Services, with service centers in Escondido, Oceanside, and Carlsbad, has expanded access and availability of food, employment, and housing resources for those impacted.
Households of any income level are eligible for a week’s worth of groceries at no charge. Limits on the frequency of accessing this resource have been lifted for all impacted by the government shutdown. Some individuals may qualify for our Offering Hope in Housing program, which helps with rental assistance resources and reduced utility rates to help those at risk of losing their housing. Interfaith also operates employment centers connecting people with temporary labor in Escondido and Carlsbad.
We are announcing these resources publicly as many in need may never have accessed social services in the past, and we also want the public to know that access to any Interfaith program or resource is completely confidential.
We exist as an agency to work in partnership with our neighbors experiencing difficult times, and if you’re reading this and think we may be able to work together, we encourage you to call or visit one of our centers. You can find locations along with more information by clicking [here]
Interfaith’s programs and services are supported through generous donations. If you’re in a position to help during this time, please click the link below to learn how you can help our neighbors in need.
