Del Mar CA— It has been said that gardening is part craft and part artistic endeavor. Entries are now open to show off your plant creativity and win cash awards, special recognition and ribbons in the Paul Ecke Jr. Flower and Garden Show at the 2019 San Diego County Fair, presented by Albertsons|Vons.Gardener’s delight:
This year’s Garden Show theme is “There’s No Place Like Home,” as the Fair celebrates L. Frank Baum timeless classic, “The Wizard of Oz.” The show will feature various types of landscape exhibits along with individual container plants. A plethora of Oz-some entries are expected, encompassing what San Diego outdoor living is all about! Exhibit entries are open to all California residents including amateurs, non-profit organizations, businesses, associations and garden clubs in the horticultural, agricultural or floricultural industry. Youth categories are open to ages 9-19 within 4H, FFA, youth groups and individual students. Award-winning exhibitors will be invited to a private awards ceremony during the Fair. Register online for the Garden Show here by May 3. Fees range from $5 to $350 per entry.

The Flower Show features the region’s largest exhibition of award-winning floral specimens. On display are beautiful professional interiors, floral vignettes and floral inspirations. There will be competitions for both amateur and professional floral designers, and more than 5,000 fresh-cut blooms and expressive floral designs will be showcased.
If you grow beautiful blooms and plants, arrange amazing floral designs or create Bonsai and tray landscapes, enter the Flower Show competition here by May 10. Entry fees range from $10 to $85.
