SDCCU Super Shred Event is happening June 15 at SDCCU Stadium

San Diego County CA— San Diego County Credit Union^® (SDCCU^®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is committed to helping the community properly dispose of sensitive data, an effort that landed the company a total of six Guinness World Records^® titles. SDCCU’s latest Free Shred Day Event, held at three locations on March 9, resulted in a total of 62,700 pounds of paper collected and shredded.

Last year’s SDCCU Super Shred Event resulted in the collection of a total of 500,875 pounds of paper and saved 4,257 trees. SDCCU plans to break its own most paper shredded in 8 hours record this year at the next SDCCU Super Shred Event scheduled for June 15, 2019 at SDCCU Stadium.
SDCCU began hosting its free Shred Day events in 2007 and has since collected, shredded and recycled more than 4.1 million pounds of documents at no charge, saving over 34,000 trees (roughly 120 pounds shredded represents one saved tree). The events have also saved the community roughly $451,000 in costs associated with shredding documents. SDCCU was the first financial institution and remains the only to be named a Live Well San Diego partner for its efforts in helping to create a safer San Diego by providing free shredding services to the community.
