Oceanside CA— MainStreet Oceanside presents the Sixth Annual Taste of Oceanside on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 2-5 p.m. Featuring new restaurants and a new look for 2019, Downtown Oceanside’s premier culinary experience will give attendees the opportunity to taste their way through Oceanside’s exciting food and brew scene — one bite and sip at a time.
Attendees can walk or ride their bikes to each participating venue — or take a trolley — to sample local handcrafted cuisine and, optionally, beverages by the restaurants, brewers and wineries that have made Oceanside one of the leading foodie destinations in North County San Diego. Along the way, tasters will have the chance to explore downtown restaurants and retail businesses while enjoying musical performances throughout the district.
In all, attendees can enjoy over 35 food and beverage tastings this year, including offerings by new restaurants and tasting rooms like Coomber Craft Wines, Sancho’s Tacos, Exhale Oceanside and Rosewood Kitchen. Returning this year to the corner of North Tremont Street and Pier View Way, the popular Taste of South Oceanside will include pop-up tastes from the following South O restaurants: Panca Peruvian Cuisine, The Whet Noodle, Beach Break Cafe, Anita’s Mexican Restaurant & Cantina and Privateer Coal Fire Pizza.
On sale now, Taste of Oceanside tickets are limited to 1,000 for this rain-or-shine event. Available at www.tasteofoceanside.com and the Main Street Oceanside office, 701 Mission Ave., advance food tasting tickets are $30, and food and beverage tasting tickets, $40, for attendees who are 21 and over. Tasters can save $5 per ticket online through Aug. 31 with the code EARLYBIRD. If any tickets remain the day of, they can be purchased for $35 and $45 at the attendee check-in booth at Civic Center Plaza, 300 N. Coast Highway.
Two dollars from every ticket sold will be donated to the North County Food Bank, which will provide 10 meals to North County residents in need. Based in San Marcos, the North County Food Bank provides food assistance to working-poor families, fixed-income seniors, low-income military families and children living in poverty in communities throughout North County.
Taste of Oceanside will continue to promote zero waste in Oceanside by giving a commemorative spork to each attendee. Provided by event sponsor Green Oceanside, the uniquely embossed Taste of Oceanside spork will eliminate the addition of over 20,000 plastic utensils to the landfill.
MainStreet would like to thank event sponsors Green Oceanside, City of Oceanside, Frontwave Credit Union and Farm Fresh To You for their support.
MainStreet Oceanside is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting a pedestrian-friendly community with unique and exciting attractions, including both daytime and evening activities, for residents and visitors alike.
