Oceanside CA— Instruction in hula dance is now being offered at the Oceanside Country Club Senior Center. Instructor Ilima Kam Martinez, founder of the hālau (hula school), Ka Hula O ʻIlima brings almost thirty years of experience to the center and its patrons.
“As the caregiver of my own father, I realize the impact of keeping kupuna (seniors) active and social. After reading a study about how hula improves heart health, I felt it was important to offer
a hula class for both the physical and mental health of our senior community”.
Classes take place at 455 Country Club Ln., Oceanside, CA 92054 (760) 435-5250 on Wednesday mornings. Class reservations are not required and open to all skill levels.
