Oceanside CA— Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside (BGCO) is pleased to announce that it has received a $20,000 grant from the Walter J. & Betty C. Zable Foundation. Grant funds will be used to support the Club’s enriching after school programs and out-of-school-time camps.
BGCO offers programs to youth, ages 5 to 18, in the areas of education, STREAM (Science, Technology, Research, Engineering, Arts, Math), health and life skills, character and leadership, and sports and recreation. Serving 1,400 members daily, BGCO currently has one traditional Clubhouse, 6 school based sites and a Sports Academy.
BGCO will use grant funds to provide a wide range of programs during after school hours and during camps, including Culinary Arts, Performing Arts, Intramural Sports, and Academic Achievement Hour.
“We are so grateful for Zable’s support! It is because of community supporters like them that we are able to impact over 4,000 youth each year” said Jodi Diamond, CEO. “Now, more than ever, youth in our community need to know what kinds of career paths exist. Thanks to the Zable Foundation, we will be able to provide a kaleidoscope of opportunities for youth in Oceanside, helping them find their passion and reach their highest potential.”
