Oceanside CA— Applications are now being accepted for the 2020 Miss Oceanside Scholarship Pageant, to be held on Sat, April 4th, at 6:00 pm at the Star Theater in Oceanside. The annual pageant has been sponsored by the Oceanside Sea Lions since 1981. The Oceanside Sea Lions was charted in 1968 in Oceanside. They provide eye exams and eye glasses for needy children attending Oceanside schools, and donate to numerous charities with an emphasis on sight, hearing, diabetes, and childhood cancer.

Single girls, ages 13-24 living in Oceanside are eligible to compete. The pageant is judged on personality, a personal interview, poise, presentation, and a question on stage.
Eight girls are chosen as Miss Oceanside, Miss Teen Oceanside, and their princesses and do community service work throughout the year as goodwill ambassadors for the City of Oceanside, the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, and the Oceanside Sea Lions.
The winners also receive a cash scholarship and numerous prizes.
An orientation meeting will be held on Thursday, Jan 30th at the Mission Branch Library, 3861B Mission Avenue, in Oceanside at 5:45 pm – 7:15 pm. Rehearsals and free pageant coaching will start in February. It’s a fun opportunity as well as gaining confidence to last a lifetime.
