Industry professionals are invited to share their expertise and submit a workshop proposal to be considered as a presenter or convener at the virtual conference
San Diego CA— The San Diego Housing Federation (SDHF) announced today it will host its 2020 Annual Affordable Housing and Community Development Conference virtually the week of Oct. 5-9th.
Bringing more than 600 industry professionals and community and business leaders together, the annual conference will cover topics ranging from financing strategies to supportive housing options.
This year’s theme, 30 Years of Building Better Futures, will celebrate the rich 30-year history of the San Diego Housing Federation’s affordable housing advocacy and look ahead at strategies and best practices to create affordable housing opportunities, preserve existing housing, and maximize the positive impact that affordable homes have on our communities.
The San Diego Housing Federation encourages industry leaders to share their innovative approaches to affordable housing, community and economic development in the region and offer their insights to stimulate conversations at the 2020 Annual Conference.
“We are seeking workshop proposals from experienced affordable housing representatives who can share their unique perspectives on ways to address housing issues in the region,” said Stephen Russell, executive director of the San Diego Housing Federation. “During these times, we must have meaningful dialogues on how we can support our vulnerable individuals and families that are faced with housing instability. The virtual format is an opportunity for speakers and attendees from all over the country to participate in the conversation.”
The organization has outlined six tracks that panelists can follow: communications and engagement; design, development and operations; emerging trends; housing finance; policy and advocacy; and supportive housing. Panelists can also submit proposals on other related topics.
Those interested in speaking at the Annual Affordable Housing and Community Development Conference can submit their workshop proposal online at https://airtable.com/shrQQ1FY59ZbsPdhg or via Word or PDF format to sarah@housingsandiego.org by Friday, June 12 at 5 p.m. Workshop conveners will be notified of acceptance the week of July 13, 2020.
