August 3 and 4

San Diego County CA— Food banks in San Diego and across the country are addressing an increased need for food assistance as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. To help, 47 San Diego area Jersey Mike’s Subs locations are donating 25 percent of sales today on Monday, Aug. 3 and tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 4 to Feeding San Diego.
In the area served by Feeding San Diego, 1 in 6 people struggles with hunger including 1 in 4 children. Feeding San Diego is a member of the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States, Feeding America®. This spring, Jersey Mike’s donated more than $2 million to help the Feeding America nationwide network of 200 food banks, providing 20 million meals.
“To honor Jersey Mike’s Founder Peter Cancro for his extraordinary example of giving during these challenging times, we wanted to conduct our own local fundraiser to help those struggling with hunger in our community,” said Cathy Brown, Jersey Mike’s area director and one of the local owners. “We hope everyone will come in to our beautiful newly renovated restaurants and support this important cause.”
“With children out of school, rising unemployment, and business closures, the need for food assistance has increased by an estimated 50% in San Diego County,” said Gavon Morris, Chief Development and Marketing Officer, Feeding San Diego. “Jersey Mike’s partnership and generous gift is helping us distribute additional meals to the community during this difficult time.”
Guests can place takeout orders in-store or for no contact pick-up at the door through Jersey Mike’s website or the Jersey Mike’s app. Delivery is available through the app or through third-party delivery partners.
Responding to COVID-19, Jersey Mike’s franchise owners across the country donated millions of sub sandwiches to healthcare workers, seniors, children and others.
