San Diego CA— During the month of January, Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center will host a variety of events for community members to enjoy. Key events include an adult cooking class on vegan comfort foods, led by Kitchenista Chef, Aureny Aranda of Au Gourmet. Aureny’s class will be led in Spanish with simultaneous English translation available.
In addition, the nonprofit will host a book club event to discuss “Fresh Fruit, Broken Bodies” by Seth Holmes. The novel choice represents Olivewood’s efforts to focus on the voices and experiences of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, to mobilize its community from education into action.
Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center aims to keep its community engaged and provide the resources to implement healthy lifestyle changes. Events are suitable for all ranges to support community members in the South Bay.
