Oceanside CA— Write On, Oceanside! is an annual literary festival to celebrate and inspire local authors hosted by Oceanside Public Library and the Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF). This year’s celebration will be virtual and will take place on January 14, 2021. Join us for the following programs:
Join us in gearing up for Write On, Oceanside! by participating in a writing contest on BiblioBoard. In 500 words of prose or poetry, write an Ode to Oceanside. Get creative with a contemporary version of this timeless style and tell us why you love our wonderful city! Prizes: $50.00 Amazon gift card for Grand Prize and $15.00 gift cards for two runner-ups in both Teen and Adult categories. Winners odes will be read at the Live WOO event on Jan. 14.

Never Ending Story

Story telling is the basis of most writing. We want you to help us create the longest, most fantastical story. Read what has been already submitted and then let your imagination soar! No age limit, but Remember: This is a Family Event. Visit ocaf.info/write-on/ and share your inspirations.

Legend has it that Ernest Hemingway bet his literary friends that he could write an entire story in six words. The group put $10.00 each into the pot, then Hemingway wrote, “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.”
NOW, it is your turn! Everyone is invited to try their hand. Come up with your best bite-sized story. Prizes for those judged best.
