San Diego CA— Promises2Kids, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create a brighter future for foster children, raised $43,000 during a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign by selling golf balls for the Brighter Futures Ball Drop. The event was presented by Carmel Mountain Preschool and took place on June 24, 2021, at the Bernardo Heights Country Club. With the community’s support, Promises2Kids surpassed their goal of raising $35,000 to support foster children in San Diego County.
The first $10,000 in golf ball sales were matched through a generous donation from The Eugene La Pietra Foundation. The fundraising campaign included a $2,500 cash prize for the ball that landed closest to the pin. This year’s winner was Judi Sinopoli, who purchased golf balls in honor of her great nephew Jackson, who lived less than a day.
