San Diego CA— St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center (SMSC), a nonprofit organization that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will host its 43rd Annual Haute with Heart Fashion Shown on Saturday, August 14th, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. This year’s theme is “Age of New Beginnings” and will take place at the organization’s main campus in El Cajon (2119 East Madison Ave. El Cajon, CA 92019).
The Annual Haute with Heart Fashion Show is dedicated to raising funds for SMSC and its innovative programs, such as its Activity Center, Adult Developmental Center, Behavior Modification Program, and Senior Program. Guests can expect to be treated to a champagne reception, various culinary delights, and a special evening of fashion in the campus Secret Garden, a serene setting of flowers, trees, and native plants. There will also be a silent and live auction during the event.
“We are very excited to welcome guests back to our campus for our 43rd Annual Haute with Heart Fashion Show,” said Debra Emerson, CEO of St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center. “Not only will guests enjoy an evening of fashion and fun, but their support will help us to continue educating and empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to realize their full potential.”
This year’s presenting sponsor is Colette Gerard. It will also be honoring Alison Cummings, a passionate supporter, past board president, current board member, and all-around active volunteer. Kay Krueger will serve as the Honorary Chair and De Anna Dougherty will serve as the Host Chair.
This signature event will also mark the last day of SMSC’s 21 Days of Fashion & Fun, a virtual celebration taking place on the organization’s social media accounts from July 25 to August 14. Each day a new student will be featured as they share their interests, activities, and personal sense of style. The goal is to raise $100,000 to help fund St. Madeleine’s ongoing programs and services, which are currently a hybrid of online, in community, and on campus activities and classes during the transition to full-campus programming.
