Washington DC— The Elizabeth Dole Foundation along with Wounded Warrior Project and the Department of Veterans Affairs will host a second conversation in their series, “Afghanistan: Let’s Continue the Conversation,” on August 31, 2021, at 8 p.m. Responding to a crisis among military caregivers over how to manage their emotions and the emotions of their wounded veterans about the events in Afghanistan, the first webinar of the series has already been viewed more than 4,000 times across the Foundation’s platforms.

During this one-hour interactive session, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers from experts in real-time. Speakers will address:
- How to support veterans during this difficult time and reinforce the importance of their service.
- How to talk with your children and/or adolescents who may not understand what they’re seeing or hearing.
- Aiding and supporting Afghanistan refugees and opportunities to get involved with existing efforts.
- What mental health practices and exercises can be incorporated to provide calm during these unexpected times of crisis.
- What resources are available to support you and your family during this time.
